We put such a lot of effort into growing the pumpkins that we felt that they needed to be given the appropriate send off.The little one was expertly carved by Tom to go in conjunction with his Arthur Dent - Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy Halloween costume. He used the technique of printing out a paper template which he pricked lots of pinholes through so he could see the design underneath. Cutting the top off was surprisingly difficult, hence the saw.
The pumpkin flesh went into a beautiful sweet and creamy pumpkin soup which I took to work for over a week. A really autumnal, warm treat.
